CB Unemployment Rate Up Last Month

The latest numbers from Stats Canada show Cape Breton’s unemployment rate went up slightly last month.

The unemployment rate of 13.8 per cent is three-tenths of a percentage point higher than August.

It’s also nine-tenths of a point higher than September of last year.

Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate was unchanged last month at 6.2 percent.

That number matches the low of October 2008.
