Sixth Person Charged in Sydney Bypass Hit and Run

A 35-year-old Catalone man is the sixth person charged in connection to a fatal hit and run on the Sydney Bypass.

Cheticamp veteran Jackie Desveau was killed when he was hit by a car near the Mira Road exit in March.

Andrew Phillip MacIntyre is charged with being an accessory after the fact in the case.

He’s accused of helping Thomas Smith get parts for his damaged Volkswagen.

26 year-old Smith from Sydney faces a number of charges in the case, including dangerous driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death and obstruction of justice.

MacIntyre is due back in court on November 1st to enter a plea.
