SiRT Head Leaves Post

The head of the province’s Serious Incident Response Team or SiRT is leaving the role next month.

Ron MacDonald is SIRT’s first and only director, starting in the job in 2012.

The province says MacDonald is moving to BC as chief civilian director of the Independent Investigations Office.

Justice Minister Mark Furey says Nova Scotia has an innovative model that is unique in the region and is respected nationwide.

The process to find a replacement will begin immediately.
