The price of gas took a bigger than predicted jump, overnight.
Gas went up by 7.3 cents a litre and now goes for a minimum of $1.15.2 in Cape Breton.
Diesel went up by 2.3 cents and now costs a minimum of $1.01.4 cents a litre on the Island.
Analysts blame the increase in gas prices on a shut down of 25 percent of U.S. gasoline production because of Hurricane Harvey.
They also point to a spike in demand going into the Labour Day long weekend.
