Barrett Pleads Guilty

Thomas Ted Barrett has pleaded guilty to being an accessory in the death of Laura Jessome.

The second-degree murder charge against Barrett in the case has been dropped.

The 41-year-old Barrett made an unscheduled appearance in court today.

His judge and jury trial in the case was scheduled to begin on September 11th.

Barrett will be sentenced on October 31.

Barrett is already serving a life sentence after being convicted of second-degree murder in the death of 19-year-old Brett Elizabeth McKinnon from Glace Bay.
