Police Watchdog Investigating Lingan Road Head-On Crash

The province’s police watchdog is investigating a head-on crash on Lingan Road Saturday night that left a woman with serious injuries and a man facing charges.

The Serious Incident Response Team says a man got away in a vehicle after Regional Police were called to a complaint of domestic violence.

It adds when officers tried to stop the vehicle it drove off and police stopped the chase near the former radar station.

However, the SIRT says police got a call a short time later about a collision between the man’s vehicle and another vehicle.

The woman who was driving the vehicle suffered two broken legs along with other injuries.

A 24-year-old Sydney man was arrested at the scene for impaired driving causing bodily harm.

He was held in custody over the weekend to await a court appearance, today.
