Fatal Crash Accused Released On Bail

An Edwardsville man was released on bail today as he faces charges stemming from a fatal single-vehicle crash in Kempt Head on the weekend.

24 year-old Christopher William Copan faces counts of impaired driving causing death and driving with a blood/alcohol level exceeding the legal limit causing death.

He was arrested at the scene after the Saturday crash on Kempt Head Road.

RCMP say a 22-year-old man who was a passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

They add a 27-year-old man and a 22-year-old man who were also passengers were taken to the Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Copan is due back in court to enter pleas on September 25th.
