Donkin Man Arrested After Incident In Glace Bay

Regional Police say a 29-year-old Donkin man was arrested after barricading himself inside a home in Glace Bay this afternoon.

They add officers were patrolling Brookside Street at about 12:30 when they recognized the man as someone wanted on an outstanding warrant.

They go on to say, when officers attempted to arrest the man, he ran into a home on the same street, refused to come out and claimed he had a gun.

Police say the man surrendered at about 1:30.

They add they’ve confirmed there was no weapon involved.

Charges are expected to be laid.

The man’s name has not been released.
