Two Cape Bretoners are among several Atlantic Canadians being awarded bravery medals from Governor Gen. David Johnston in Moncton, New Brunswick, this afternoon.
Karl Curtis will accept a medal of bravery on behalf of his late wife Anne Michelle Curtis from Lingan.
She died in August of 2015 after saving a group of children from a riptide at the campground beach near Broad Cove Marsh in Inverness County.
Liam Bernard from Whycocomagh will receive a star of courage, today.
He rescued two passengers trapped inside a burning truck near Melford outside of Whycocomagh in September.
