Nominations Closed in Provincial Election

Still with the election, nominations for candidates officially closed at 2:00, yesterday afternoon.

Elections Nova Scotia says the Liberals, NDP and Progressive Conservatives are each running a full slate of 51 candidates.

The Green Party has nominated 32 candidates while the Atlantica Party has 15.

Most of the Cape Breton ridings only have candidates from the three main parties.

However, Steven James MacNeil is on the ballot for the Atlantica Party in Glace Bay along with Lois MacDougall for the NDP, Geoff MacLellan for the Liberals and John White for the P-C’s.

In Victoria the Lakes, the Green Party and an independent are on the ballot along with NDP, Liberal and Tory candidates.
