MLA’s have been in the Legislature since a minute after midnight as the legislation to impose a contract on teachers goes through third and final reading.

The Opposition is holding up passage of Bill 75 but it’s expected to pass by the end of the day thanks to the Liberal majority in the House.

Meanwhile, members of the groups Students and Parents for Teachers rallied outside Province House last night to protest the Bill.

Teachers Union President Liette Doucet is asking her members in the Halifax area to come to the Legislature for a protest after their work-to-rule day ends at 3:30, today.

She also thanked the group Parents for Teachers for its support during the labour dispute.
