Regional Police are still asking drivers to stay off roads today until the blizzard stops and roads can be cleared.
They add visibility is a complete whiteout and snow is still accumulating.
Police also say most secondary roads are not driveable at all.
Meanwhile, all public schools in Cape Breton are cancelled again, today.
Cape Breton University and the Marconi Campus of the community college are closed for the day, as well.
The provincial Health Authority says all its facilities on the Island continue to provide emergency services only and all provincial government offices and the civic centre in Sydney are closed until at least noon.
And, there’s no garbage collection in the Regional Municipality, today.
Transit Cape Breton says buses will not run this morning and adds the situation will be re-assessed at noon.
All of this morning’s and this afternoon’s flights to and from the McCurdy Sydney Airport have been cancelled.
And, Marine Atlantic says ferries from North Sydney will now leave at 11:45 tonight, weather permitting.
