School Cancelled, Today

The Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board has cancelled classes at all schools, today.

Classes are also cancelled at Etoile de l’Acadie in Sydney.

The provincial Health Authority says its facilities in Victoria, Inverness and Richmond Counties in Cape Breton are providing emergency services only, today.

Regular services are still be provided at facilities in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

Meanwhile, roads in Cape Breton are described as snow-covered and passable with caution, this morning after last night’s snowfall and ice pellets.

The Englishtown ferry isn’t running this morning because of high winds and the Canso Causeway is closed to high sided vehicles because of high winds.

This morning’s 9:55 flight to Halifax from the Sydney McCurdy Airport has been cancelled.

And Marine Atlantic has cancelled this morning’s crossing from North Sydney because of weather conditions in the Cabot Strait.

The Crown Corporation says those scheduled to sail this morning will now leave at 11:45 tonight.
