School is Cancelled, Marine Atlantic Delayed

Classes are cancelled for all students in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board today as a wind and rain storm makes its way across the province.

Etoile de l’Acadie in Sydney has also cancelled classes, today.

Meanwhile, Marine Atlantic has postponed more crossings from North Sydney because of weather conditions in the Cabot Strait.

The Crown Corporation says those scheduled to sail last night and this morning are now due to leave at 11:45 tonight.

However, it adds tonight’s crossing could also be affected by the weather.

A gale warning remains in effect for the Cabot Strait with seas forecast to build to between 6 and 8 metres this afternoon.
