Glace Bay Funding Announcements

There are two government funding announcements in the works for Glace Bay, today.

Cape Breton-Canso MP Rodger Cuzner will be at the Miners Museum at 10:00 this morning along with Premier Stephen McNeil, and Regional Mayor Cecil Clarke.

Funding for long-called-for repairs to the museum building is expected to be announced at the event.

There’s also word the group working to revitalize the South Street Park will get funding from all three levels of government, today.

The Glace Bay Community Commons Society has already raised about $100,000 for the project that includes a splash pad, playground area, basketball courts and a new parking lot.
