Home Invasion Suspects Arrested

Regional Police say they’ve arrested three people wanted in connection with an armed home invasion earlier this month.

The case involves 35 year-old Nathan Brian Medel from Sydney, 18 year-old Carolyn Ann Dermody from North Sydney, and 25 year-old Edward James O’Brien, who has no fixed address.

They’re facing a number of charges, including assault with a weapon and forcible confinement, stemming from an incident at a home on Ferry Street in Sydney on December 14th.

The three are accused of entering the home and demanding money from two people inside.

Police say Dermody and O’Brien were arrested without incident at a home on Bentinck St. in Sydney at about 5:30 yesterday evening.

They add Medel was arrested about a half hour later near Forrest St. in Sydney.

Police say the three are now in lockup, and they’re expected to be remanded to the Cape Breton Correctional Centre sometime today.
