Sydney Area Woman Dies In House Fire

A 59 year-old woman was found dead yesterday at the scene of a house fire in Sydney.

Regional Police say the blaze happened at 46 Broadway St. in Whitney Pier.

They add two people were in the home when the fire broke out, and a man in his 50’s was able to escape with minor injuries.

The woman’s body was later found by paramedics.

Her name has yet to be released.

Police say the man and woman knew one another and are from the Sydney area.

There’s no word yet on the cause of the fire.

Police and the Fire Marshall’s Office are investigating.
