Fire Destroys Eastern Passage Seafood Plant

Fire destroyed a seafood processing plant in Eastern Passage outside of Dartmouth, overnight.

Firefighters got the call to Capital Seafood just before 9:30.

Halifax Fire says it had 10 trucks and 25 to 30 firefighters on the scene.

No one was injured in the blaze and the cause is under investigation.

The fire has put up to 30 people who worked at the plant out of work.

It also destroyed some nearby fishermen’s gear.
