by About 300 people came out to Centre 200 in Sydney last night for the first information session for people affected by flooding from the Thanksgiving Day storm.
Regional Mayor Cecil Clarke told the meeting 18 to 20 homes have been declared unfit to live in because of flood damage.
He adds nearly 1,000 people whose properties were flooded have now registered with the CBRM help line.
A second information session will take place from 6:00 to 9:00 tonight at the Glace Bay Fire Hall.
