Rankin MacSween is expected to announce his intention to run against Cecil Clarke for the post of Regional Mayor today.
The president of community development corporation, New Dawn Enterprises unsuccessfully ran against Clarke in municipal elections, four years ago.
MacSween is due to make what’s being described as a special announcement at the Emera Centre Northside in North Sydney at 11:00, this morning.
In municipal elections four years ago, Clarke took 59 percent of the vote while MacSween got 38 percent in the five-person race.
So far, no one has come forward to challenge Clarke in the upcoming October 15th election.
