Townsend Street Delays

Regional Police are warning drivers to expect delays as Nova Scotia Power replaces poles in the Townsend Street area of Sydney, starting today.

Police add the work will last for several weeks until all poles are replaced from the Nova Scotia Power sub-station on Townsend Street to the Esplanade.

From today through to Friday, Townsend Street will be reduced to one lane from McKenzie Street to George Street.

The work will take place from 6:30 in the morning until 6:30 in the evening.

People are being asked to take other routes if they want to avoid delays.
