Domoslai Trial Delayed Again

There’s been another delay at the trial of a Sydney man accused of trying to have his ex-wife killed.

53 year-old Roderick Domoslai is facing two counts of counselling to commit murder, one of counselling to commit arson and one count each of obstruction and perjury.

His trial was scheduled to resume this morning, but the court heard Domoslai’s lawyer, Ray Kuskelewski, is currently unavailable because of health issues.

This comes after the trial was held up last week when Domoslai’s initial defence lawyer, Laura McCarthy, cited ethical reasons for wanting to step away from the case.

McCarthy’s husband and business partner, Lyle Howe, sought to take the case but was denied.

Kuskelewski was allowed to take the case but said he needed more time to prepare for the cross-examination of Erin Maxwell, of North Sydney.

Maxwell testified last week Domoslai gave him 20,000 dollars to arrange for the death of Domoslai’s ex-wife, Dawn McNeil.

Domoslai said today he couldn’t get in touch with Kuskelewski.

The trial is now scheduled to resume on September 6th.

A graduate of Breton Education Centre, Dave went on to get a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Sociology from Cape Breton University, as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology from Dalhousie University. He has worked as a teaching assistant at Dalhousie, and in various short-term customer service and research positions.
