North Sydney Man Arrested On Impaired Driving Charge

A 38-year-old North Sydney man faces an impaired driving charge after being arrested on Kings Road in Sydney River early this morning.

Regional Police say officers were doing routine patrols at about 2:10 this morning, when one officer noticed a vehicle parked in a parking lot with the engine running.

Police add the officer approached the vehicle and found the driver showing signs of impairment.

The man was arrested on scene without incident.

He was held in police custody and was released later this morning on a Promise to Appear in court at a later date.

His foray into radio began with a research position at The Coast, which led to the production of a radio documentary on the music of the Mi’kmaq people. A graduate of Breton Education Centre, Dave went on to get a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Sociology from Cape Breton University, as well as a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology from Dalhousie University. He has worked as a teaching assistant at Dalhousie, and in various short-term customer service and research positions.
