New VA Office For Sydney

A Veterans Affairs office will be reopening in Sydney by September or October but it won’t be in the former George Street location.

Sydney-Victoria MP Mark Eyking also says a new office in the Sydney area is under renovations and adds the location could be announced in the next couple of weeks.

The news comes after the Liberal government officially reopened the first of nine VA offices closed by the Conservatives in Cornerbrook, Newfoundland, yesterday.

Eyking says the new Sydney office will be more accessible and user-friendly than the former George Street location.

He adds the office will serve veterans from across Cape Breton and parts of the mainland.

The new office is also expected to have more than the 13 full-time and four part-time employees the old one had.
