New Waterford Home Hardware Meeting, Tonight

Area councillor Lowell Cormier is urging people to come out for tonight’s meeting to discuss the relocation of the community’s only hardware store.New Waterford Home Hardware wants to move to the Frank Angot building in the St. Agnes Elementary school complex.
St. Agnes School is slated for closure at the end of the month and the building will be returned to the Regional Municipality.
The area will have to be rezoned in order for the store to move to the school building.
Cormier says he hopes tonight’s meeting will generate public support for the rezoning.
After the meeting, the rezoning matter will go back to the planning department that will make a recommendation to council.
The meeting starts at 6:30 this evening at the New Waterford fire hall.
