Glace Bay Man On Trial For Assaulting A Child

A trial is underway for a Glace Bay man charged with a brutal assault on a young child.

30 year-old Donald Richard McGrath faces counts of assault causing bodily harm and aggravated assault in the case.

McGrath was charged after the child suffered a number of injuries including severe bruising along with internal organ damage.

The name of the child is banned from publication.

The judge only trial began yesterday and is scheduled to run 10 days.
