Sydney Ports Day, Today

Sydney’s annual Ports Day gets underway today at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion.

The event will begin at 9:00 this morning with a presentation from Barry Sheehy one of the private consultants given exclusive rights to market the port.

The keynote speaker at today’s conference will be J.C. Evans,who’s considered an industry expert in container shipping.

His address will focus on Sydney’s potential to become an East Coast shipping mega-hub.

Also speaking at today’s conference will be representatives from Donkin mine owners, Kameron Coal and Canadian Maritime Engineering that bought North Sydney’s Archibald’s Wharf from the Regional Municipality.
