Bridgeport School Supporters Take Concerns To School Board Meeting

People upset with the planned closure of Brigdeport School made their feelings known to elected members of the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board, last night.

The Board’s monthly meeting was dominated by those speaking out against the vote to close the school in June.

Debbie Tracey told the Board she’s hearing that some Bridgeport parents are refusing to send the kids to John Bernard Croak School as planned in September.

She adds they’re concerned about the state of the school.

Meanwhile, local school board member Gary Fraser says the comments made at the meeting will be discussed by the board.

He also suggested that maybe the board could revisit its decision to close Bridgeport School.
