Sexual Assault Charge Against Grant Dismissed

A sexual assault charge has been dismissed against well-known Cape Breton fiddle player Colin Grant.

Grant’s trial on the charge was supposed to begin in Port Hawkesbury court, yesterday.

But instead, the judge ruled that the 31 year-old Sydney native will have to abide by a peace bond for a year that prevents him from having any contact with the complainant in the case.

Grant was charged after an incident in Mabou in September of 2014, and he entered a not guilty plea in May of last year.
