Recall of Costco Frozen Fruit Product Over Hep A Risk

Costco Canada is offering free vaccines to anyone who ate a brand of frozen fruit sold at the store that’s now the subject of a recall.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall for Nature’s Touch Organic Berry Cherry Blend because of possible hepatitis A contamination.

The mix is sold exclusively at Costco and the Public Health Agency of Canada says 13 cases of Hepatitis A have been linked to the product

Free hepatitis A shots will be offered at all Costco locations in this province as well as in Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Ontario and Quebec.

The vaccine can help prevent illness if a person gets it within two weeks of being exposed to the virus.
