Municipal clerk and returning officer Deborah Campbell says the introduction of e-voting by phone or Internet was well-received, four years ago.
She adds about 57 per cent of voters used the electronic option rather than the traditional paper ballot in 2012.
Campbell goes on to say 53 percent of voters cast votes online or by phone in the 2014 byelection in District 10.
Staff is recommending that e-voting be used in advance polls only between Oct. 5 and Oct. 12.
Voting on Election Day, October 15th will be by paper ballot only.
Dartmouth-based Intelivote won the contract to provide e-voting services at a cost of about 159-thousand dollars.
The company has since entered into a partnership with another firm, Scytl Canada.
