Preliminary Hearing For Man Accused in Reserve Mines Fatal Shooting

A Ben Eoin man accused in a fatal shooting in Reserve Mines last June is due in court today for a preliminary hearing.

25 year-old Brandon James Berthiaume faces a count of first degree murder in the death of 25 year-old Brandon Kelly.

Berthiaume also faces a charge of attempted murder after police say that shots were fired at a man who was with Kelly at the time of the shooting.

Berthiaume is also facing charges of breaching court orders by having contact with two people he was ordered to stay away from.

Meanwhile, Berthiaume’s mother is also due in court today for a preliminary hearing in the same case.

45 year-old Jennifer Lynn Chisholm from Ben Eoin faces a charge of being an accessory after the fact in the shooting.
