School Cancelled at Noon, Today

The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board is cancelling classes at noon today as a wintry spring storm comes our way.

The Board says students will be dismissed when the buses arrive at schools.

Students in the Strait Regional School Board that covers Richmond and Inverness Counties in Cape Breton are also being dismissed at noon.

Meanwhile, classes are cancelled in the Annapolis and Chignecto-Central boards as well as in Lunenburg and Queens Counties, today.

And, Marine Atlantic has postponed today’s crossings from North Sydney because of weather conditions in the Cabot Strait.

The Crown Corporation adds tomorrow’s crossings could also be affected by the weather.

There are now storm and freezing spray warnings in effect for the Cabot Strait.
