Chase The Ace Confusion

Organizers of the Ashby Legion’s Chase the Ace lottery say they’ll work with Alcohol and Gaming officials to make sure yesterday’s mistake of two winning tickets isn’t repeated.

Marie Matthys from River Ryan and Angie Willems from Scotchtown both had tickets with a winning number because of a printing error.

After some discussion, it was announced that the Legion and the Horizon Achievement Centre would give up their profits from yesterday’s lottery so that Matthys and Willems would each take home $229,230.

The pair did not pick the elusive ace so next week’s jackpot is estimated to be $1.3 million.
