Latest Syrian Refugees Settle in Sydney Mines

The latest Syrian refugees to arrive in Cape Breton are settling-in in Sydney Mines.

The extended family of ten arrived on the Island on Thursday.

The family is made up of three siblings and the spouses of two of them along with five children.

North Sydney lawyer Elizabeth Cusack is one of the family’s five sponsors.

She says they’re getting acquainted with their surroundings in two furnished apartments in Sydney Mines.

Cusack goes on to say there are four other members of the family they’re looking to sponsor.

She adds another sibling of the group and her three family members are still in Jordan.
