School Cancelled Again, Today

Classes are cancelled for all students in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board as well as E’toile de l’Acadie in Sydney, today.

Road conditions and the continued cleanup from yesterday’s blizzard has closed schools for the second say in a row.

Meanwhile, the provincial Health Authority says regular services will resume today at all its facilities in Cape Breton

Hospitals on the Island were operating on an emergency only basis, yesterday and surgeries, walk-in lab and x-ray services as well as outpatient clinics were suspended.

The Health Authority says it wants to thank staff who stayed overnight and worked extra shifts during the storm.

Marine Atlantic ferries are back on schedule after crossings were postponed because of the storm.

Environment Canada says a total of 29 centimetres of snow fell on the ground at the McCurdy Sydney Airport over Monday and yesterday.
