The last witness is expected to take the stand today at the second-degree murder trial of Thomas Ted Barrett.
The 40 year-old Glace Bay man is charged in the death of Brett Elizabeth McKinnon.
Her remains were found in woods in Glace Bay in 2008, two years after she was reported missing.
The last scheduled witness to testify at the trial is a rebuttal witness for the Crown that’s already called a total of 17 witnesses.
Defence lawyer Brian Bailey has called two witnesses to the stand.
Barrett has not testified.
Judge Robin Gogan is expected to rule today on whether a videotaped statement from witness Sheryl Flynn can be entered into evidence.
Flynn has since died from a drug overdose, but in the statement she testifies that Barrett confessed to her that he killed MacKinnon.
