by Supporters of MacDonald Elementary in Dominion are due to hold a march of concern in front of the school, starting at 9:00 this morning.
The move comes after people at a rally in support of the school last week learned it’s being recommended to be closed.
The school options committee for the area says it’s proposing that MacDonald and Tompkins Elementary be closed and students from both schools go to a renovated Bridgeport school.
Supporters of MacDonald Elementary are also being urged to pack tonight’s public meeting for the Glace Bay family of schools where the recommended closure of MacDonald will be officially announced.
That meeting gets underway at 6:30 at Glace Bay High.
