Cape Bretoners Digging Out, This Morning

Cape Bretoners are digging out this morning after 33.2 centimetres of snow was recorded at the Sydney McCurdy Airport, last night.

The Regional Municipality says crews had a long night of clearing streets and adds they’re continuing to work on side streets and widening main roads, this morning.

It goes on to say drifting snow is adding to the challenge.

The storm left people leaving last night’s Screaming Eagles game at Centre 200, digging out their cars from drifting snow.

It also forced a number of cancellations yesterday and police were warning people to avoid travelling if they didn’t have to.

Meanwhile, if you have something to cancel today, you can phone the Coast at 563-5771.
