by The volunteer group set up to bring Syrian refugees to Cape Breton finally has some numbers and details.
Amanda MacDougall with Lifeline Syria Cape Breton says a family of ten will be arriving on the Northside while families of six will be going to Marion Bridge and Port Hood.
MacDougall says they still don’t have exact details on when the families will be arriving.
However, she adds they’re going to need donations in order to help the families.
MacDougall says they’re holding a donation drive at St. George’s Hall on Nepean Street in Sydney between 10 in the morning and 2:00 in the afternoon, tomorrow.
She goes on to say they’re looking for donations of clothing, household items, furniture and non-perishable food.
Lifeline Syria Cape Breton is currently working with 11 groups on the Island and MacDougall says they’re each at various stages in the effort to sponsor Syrian refugees.
