Grant’s Sexual Assault Trial Due To Start, Today

The sexual assault trial for well-known Cape Breton fiddle player Colin Grant is due to begin today in Port Hawkesbury Court after being postponed in September.

Grant faces the charge stemming from an incident in Mabou on September 6th of last year.

He entered a not guilty plea in May.

Grant has been released on conditions, including that he have no contact with the complainant in the case, whose name is banned from publication.

Grant is known for his solo career and as a member of a number of bands.

The award winning traditional group Coig announced he was no longer a member after he was charged.
