Man Arrested After Sydney Bank Robbery Due In Court

An Eskasoni man arrested on Friday after a robbery at a bank in downtown Sydney on Thursday is due in court today.

26 year-old Randy Travis Alex has been held at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre over the weekend.

Police say at around 2:00 on Thursday afternoon, a lone man entered the TD Canada Trust Bank on Charlotte Street and handed the teller a note.

They add the man ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were no injuries.
