New Sydney Health Clinic Opens On Monday

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is opening a new multipurpose clinic in Sydney. The Sydney Health Clinic will provide a walk-in service and a Well Women’s Clinic when it opens on this coming Monday. The clinic will be located on Level 2, Unit 207, at HealthPark next to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. The clinic replaces the former walk-in and Well Women’s clinics on Kings Road in Sydney. The health authority says that the new clinic will have a walk-in service that’s available to anyone who needs to see a doctor for a less urgent or non-urgent health issue. It’s open to people without a family doctor, or those who are unable to access their family doctor in a timely manner. The walk-in service is open in the evenings, Monday to Friday, with registration beginning at 4 p.m. It’s also open on Saturdays, with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Well Women’s Clinic is by appointment only and is staffed by a female doctor. The health authority says that the Sydney Health Clinic is also expected to include other primary health care services in the future.
