The province’s police watchdog says charges have been laid against a Cape Breton Regional Police officer accused of assault.
The Serious Incident Response Team says Cst. Jefferey Hennessey is facing three counts of assault, two relating to his girlfriend and a third to another woman.
The SIRT says it was contacted by Regional Police on the morning of August 1 after reports of two incidents of domestic violence between a male Regional Police officer and his girlfriend.
Cst. Hennessey is due in Sydney Provincial Court on September 24th.
