by A fifth person has now been sentenced in connection with last year’s brutal assault on a homeless man in North Sydney.
48 year-old Gordon William Bobbitt from North Sydney was charged with obstruction of justice in the case for hiding a wrench in his apartment that was used in the attack.
The judge in the case accepted a joint recommendation from the Crown and the defence for a sentence of two years of probation.
Bobbitt has also been ordered to submit a DNA sample to the national registry and is banned from possessing firearms for 10 years.
The final accused in the case is scheduled to stand trial in March.
Cory Patrick Blinkhorn faces counts of aggravated assault, wearing a disguise (a bandana) in committing an offence, and falsely representing himself as a police officer.
49 year Shawn Kurtis Jack was left permanently disabled after the attack at his camp in the woods near a North Sydney grocery store in July of last year.
