Diesel Up 6.4 Cents a Litre After Interrupter Clause Used

The price of diesel jumped by 6.4 cents a litre overnight after the Utility and Review Board invoked the interrupter clause for the second week in a row.

Diesel now costs a minimum of 99 cents a litre in Cape Breton.

The UARB uses the interrupter clause to respond to sudden and significant changes in petroleum prices.

Meanwhile, the price of gas remained unchanged overnight and gas still costs a minimum of $100.6 cents a litre in Cape Breton.
