Inverness County Accident Victim Identified

The person killed in a single-vehicle crash in Inverness Co. has been identified.

17 year-old Jeremy Pertus from Port Hawkesbury died when his car crashed into an equipment trailer on Wednesday afternoon.

At the time, he was travelling on the access road to Georgia Pacific’s Sugar Camp gypsum quarry, about 15 kilometers northeast of Port Hastings.

RCMP say they got the call to the scene at around 1:30.

They add that the force of the collision wedged the car under the trailer and Pertus was pronounced dead at the scene.
He just graduated from the high school in Port Hawkesbury, SAREC, last month.

The RCMP say their investigation into the crash continues.
