Increased Security at Civic Centre

The Cape Breton Regional Municipality has increased security at the Civic Centre in Sydney in a response to the recent attacks on Parliament Hill.   Spokesperson Christina Lamey says all doors at the Civic Centre will be locked at 9:00 in the morning with the exception of the main entrance.   Lamey says the change will mean that all non-staff will have to enter the building through the front door, off the Esplanade. She adds visitors and staff will still be able to use all of the exits in the building.
