Tap water from New Waterford has won third place in a tap water taste test for Atlantic Canada. The competition took place at the Atlantic Canada Water and Wastewater Association Conference. New Waterford tap water went up against 17 entries from all over the Region. The judging panel included executive board members from the American Waterworks Association and samples were judged on appearance, smell, taste and overall impression. New Waterford tap water comes from Waterford & Kilkenny Lakes. The water system provides drinking water to 10,100 people in New Waterford, Scotchtown, River Ryan, New Victoria and Lingan.
