Richmond County has a new warden. Councillors voted their colleague Victor David to the post, at their meeting, last night. David defeated former warden Steve Sampson in last night’s vote. Councillor Shirley McNamara was voted as deputy warden. Also at last night’s council meeting, councillors were presented with two options for reducing the size of council. Consultant John Heseltine recommended either reducing council from ten to seven members or going down to five members and having a mayor elected, at large, by Richmond County voters. Councillors voted to have a closer look at both options before they make a decision.
